TR7 prices

Have I missed something!!! Have I missed the soaring prices of TR7's. Ignoring the £21,500 rally replica there are three convertibles on ebay priced at £9,995 £8,500 and a bargain price of £4,500. I shall allow the ebay viewer to come to an informed decision but in my opinion more than one of these cars have decidedly dodgy welded repairs. I know TR7's are grossly undervalued and may well rise in price in due course but such an abrupt escalation in expectations seems optimistic. Best of luck to the vendors nevertheless. supercass

About time.
I have always said if it will go up in value it would start being respected for what it is and not Belittle what it was .
If you follow that. ....

Asking and selling are two different things. In the Hagerty Insurance booklet on collector car prices, the TR7 is listed as $3,000 to $13,000 (Cdn) depending on condition. This of course eliminates the clunkers that needs massive resto. The book was I assume printed fairly recently with prices fairly current maybe a year or two old. That being said we had a professional car appraiser at out club meeting a couple of months back saying English cars had increased in price significantly and appraisals should be redone if they are a few years old. This applies more to cars like the Sunbeam Tigers than ours which is in the 80 to 90 thousand dollar range (Cdn).

Yes, there is a big difference between asking and sales price some times. This one for example:
http://fresno.craigslist.org/cto/5013656325.htmlAsking $5,000.
Less than 500 miles on a rebuilt engine - 20 years ago and been off the road since then.
Just needs carbs rebuilt, new paint, new top, new interior, electrical fixed, and see if it will start again after 20 years.
Maybe for $5,000 he could have washed it.
Good luck to him; it would be great if he could get that much. But we'll check back in a couple years when his price is in the hundreds, not thousands!

Not sure if he's showing the car for sale or showing the parts car. They both look like parts cars, one a coupe, one a DHC.

Oh yes I have notice too that the price of the TR's are going up now. The ones on ebay are heading into the thousands. I think my plan to buy a dhc may be on hold for a bit with these prices lol.

I blame John Clancy and the rest of the TRDC. They've done too good a job!
