High there. I don.t think we've met before, so welcome.

It is nice to get somewhere to keep your car out of the weather isn't ity, but I see you are already crowding the poor car out of it's space, as we all tend to do.

However I have some bad news about that tank removal. Unless you have a side door along side the tank part of the car, you may have trouble getting the tank out there, in the normal way, unless the space beside the car is greater than it looks.

The tank slides out the opposite side of the car to the filler, & requires about 1/2 the width of the tank beside the car to do this.

If you can park it hard against the wall on the right side you should manage. I see the doors are off, is it still movable to get it across a bit.

Mine was removed/replaced from the back so you would want the back of the car facing the doors so you would have room. I'd get claustrophobic in there but I guess you get used to what you got (I need a six car garage).

Me too for removing the tank from the rear. Drop the rear axle, remove the exhaust- simples - actually it wasn't simple but really fiddly. Apply plenty of penetrating on the tank strap nuts /studs before trying to undo them.

Hasbeen I've been around a while and you have helped me in the past too, I used to have the user name lbdr_barker but when moving to the new forum I decided to change to a name something more relevant to all things TR7, but thank you for the welcome none the less!

Regarding the garage it is quite wide and I have about half a tank width at that side, but I intend as suggested to turn the car around so I have more room and light before battle commences! The doors you see are replacement ones and must rank as the bargain of the century! Purchased last autumn from eBay for a total of £25!!!!! They are virtually rust free examples with no filler sourced from the USA by the seller who imported them for his project that ultimately never got off the ground.

Well that was relatively painless! The old tank came out easier than I thought. The new tank is in situ with just one final strap bolt to get in, happy days !! Thanks must also go to Mark Cox (coxy) whoes invaluable help yesterday made life so much easier, cheers buddy!

There you go. I found taking out the tank was easy. Getting it back in was a little tricky. First one side up in first then tried the other side in first. It eventually went in. Can't remember for sure now but might have had rubber filler neck attached. Riddled it out any ways.
