Being a single garage but two TR7 person, one of my cars has to live outside, albeit under a good cover. The storms a couple of weeks ago finally trashed my waterproof outdoor cover after many years of good service. It is ripped beyond repair so I need to find a replacement.

So, I like the look of the Hamilton Classics Moltex cover but it's a bit pricey even with TRDC discount. Have also seen on Ebay a Monsoon cover from a firm in Teignmouth who I think I have seen at shows, that's a bit cheaper.

Anyone got any recommendations?

I have a Hamilton's moltex cover and one of their top covers for my 8, despite the extra cost I still think that these covers offer far better value than lots of the cheapies.

The full cover is probably four or five years old and is really good - the top cover is just over a year old and is far more easy to use and covers important things such as the petrol filler.

I have had a couple of the Moltex outdoor covers and they only last a couple of years before the seams start to come apart.

Hi Tony,

I have the Monsoon cover you speak off on my FHC for 18 months and is now on its second winter. Despite all the rain last year, the high winds this year and the bl88dy neighbours cats it has survived so far. When we gales forecast often remove it as a precaution or if my daughter are home they will remove it if it become loose, don't want the thing blown away !! I had cheap ones in the past and they last a year and fall apart. A lot seam to damaged by the sun so IF we have a warm settle period will leave it off.

Hi Tony, I had one of their covers and it was fine for about two years before it started to break down due to UV (I bought it because he lives in the next road to me and I got a discount!) It did work well before it died, I got next to no condensation inside.

I have just replaced it with a Halfords one because it looks the same and was only about £50. Haven`t used it yet as the car is in the bodyshop.
