You have my sympathy Ron, but then you do get the compensation of all that lovely snow.

Mine would be getting put away now too, if I had not fitted the air conditioning. The last few days have been well over 100F, far too hot for a FHC 7, & really a bit too hot for topless motoring.

I will be thinking of you 7 less for the winter folk, when we get back to some normal summer weather we can enjoy.

Hi,

Sorry to hear its hibernation time for your car Ron, my DHC is of the road at the end of the month [:(] But will keep the FHC going through the winter, if it stops raining we can get some nice days plus there are the odd winter show to go too [8D]

Cheers John

Due to new (and rather stupid) rules over here cars between 25 and 40 years are no longer tax exempt.
There is a possibility for a reduced road tax fee (in case of a TR7 €89,- per year),
but that means the car is not allowed on the road from the first of December till the end of February [B)]
At least that gives me time for some jobs that have been pushed forward for a few years now [:)]

Signing in from the West Coast of Canada. We've had sunny skies for the last 9 days but the price we paid is the cold air coming in from Alberta. A few nights it got down to freezing the water in the garden hose necessitating taking off the nozzle. That's how we gauge how cold it is here on the West Coast. I could put up the top but haven't as I may want to get under the dash to reclean the electrical connectors necessitating taking out the drivers seat to get under there. Back to normal tomorrow and next week (cloudy/7-12C). Winter is usually time for projects so summer can be spent driving and not fiddling. So it's a personal choice of drive occasionally or get under the car.

What? Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no! [:D]

No partial year registration/tax here. I will keep using my car until the salt hits the road. Usually late December but we have been having highs in the 30's (F) all week. After that it's up on jack stands until March.

My DHC is now SORN, but have just started taxing the '76 FHC on the new monthly (£20 ish) direct debit so probably be taxed for ever now and make the most of any nice days over the winter.

lol , guess we got the tail end of the buffalo storm ....about 2 inches of the white crap stuck to the ground since Sunday. They salted the roads Saturday night ....so yup its over for me!

My plates renew in May , so I can "off-road" the car during the winter months and save myself 135$ of registration I usually by a driver for winter and flip it in the spring.

After a couple of years running various Hyundai's, last year I had some fun when picked up a old man sofa Buick , this year I'll be rolling like a socccer mom rocking a Montana [B)][B)][B)]
