Just been listening to something on the radio apparently there is a new comedy "The detectorists"

Detectorists follows the relationship between two friends who share a passion for metal detecting.

When Andy and Lance are together, they're like an old married couple. They gripe at each other, but there is a true bond underneath. Each has their own slightly dysfunctional lives but together they dream of finding a priceless Saxon hoard that will cement their place in detecting history.

Helping them along the way is a delightfully quirky crowd of characters who are drawn to this all-absorbing hobby.

Across the six episodes greed, betrayal, rejection and, finally redemption are all played out as the boys and their eccentric friends at the Danbury Metal Detecting Club search for that one big find.

In the script is a yellow Triumph TR7.

Sam Harley, the designer, found a 1977 yellow TR7 in pristine condition . . . and it was cheaper to buy it than hire it for the duration of the shoot.

This left the problem of what would happen to it after they finished.

It was bought. Buyer told wife they had to safeguard it in case they were commissioned for a second series.

I spoke to the bloke who was after the Yellow TR7 for the series as I had one at the time. Not sure which one he bought but he said it was a good one.

Well at least it has produced another celeb owner.

Just watched the programme, seems like a nice gentle quirky comedy.

More importantly the car is a very nice looking TR7 coupe reg WGJ22R.
Anyone here know anything about it?

loving the prog, saw the car listed on car and classics website I think it was. nice looking car.

I know I only watch it to see the TR7 but after watching episode 4 last week I like the way the series is developing and there are some parts that make me chuckle.
The characters are quite likeable as well.
