FYI: The Youtube video "Mark Parsons Targa Tasmania 1997 incar & prize giving" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5AR6Z9a3I0), posted 12 May 2013, demonstrates over 2 hours of Wedge driving excellence.

This is arguably one of the most outstanding results achieved by a Wedge in professional motorsport: 1st on Handicap and 3rd Outright behind Jim Richards (Porsche) and Ray Lintott (Porsche) http://targa.com.au/includes/SiteEd/saf ... E083561%7D.

It's a shame about the quality of the video but it's adequate to demonstrate the quality of the car and driver... at 10:26 you can hear Mark ecstatic about hitting 250kph after a small crest on a short straight!

I bet he would have won outright if the steering wheel was where it should have been, on the left side of the car.

I'm somewhat amazed that Mildred's haughty comment is the only response elicited by this content.

IMHO, we should lionise the drivers and owners that push our Wedge to its limits.

I note we do this for some that we are aware of, but it's important to do this for all!

For example, it seemed odd to me that Craig Hayman's accident in this year's Targa didn't rate a mention.

I couldn't get that video to play previously.

Yes he can drive a bit, can't he. So smooth, & so few moments.

A short wheelbase & lots of power is great, if you can handle it, but a recipe for disaster if you are good, but not quite good enough.

Mildred, with the utmost respect: coquettish is the flip-side of haughty, i.e. you see vs I see.

Phil, I've watched the full tape and generally Mark is smooth with few moments, but, to me, the outstanding parts of this footage is on the margins of his red mist and there are quite a few worth watching.

No doubt Mark can steer. A genuinely nice guy. He offered some very helpful input when I was building the new engine. Craig rang me a week or two after his Targa off. Again a good guy and I am currently in the process of suppling him with a couple of new rear bumpers. We compared notes a couple of times about development processes with our cars. The Facebook community can be used for lots of good if your not a teenager. Like most things it is what people make of it. [8D]
