Cracked tyre valves

I know there are problems with poor quality rubber in a lot of products now, but I came across a new one for me....tyre valves on which the rubber had perished and cracked after a couple of years. supercass

My tire guy put in chrome tire valves (free with the new tires) so no cracking there. Obviously there must be rubber at the seal.

I've recently had the insides of a tyre valve disintegrate and pop out when the dust cap was removed

Tyre valves are part of the MOT test over here, checking for condition and fitment.
