Wiper motor lubricants

Hi all,

One of the lubricants listed in the manual for the wiper motor is "Shell Turbo 41 Oil".

Anyone know what a modern equivalent of this is (or where you can buy the original stuff in the UK)?

Cheers

Chris

Shell still make a Turbo T oil but I don't think it is the same stuff as it is for turbines & industrial use! I guess a good quality general purpose lubricant oil would be suitable.

You also need a lithium based water resistant high melting point extreme high pressure grease to replace the Ragosine Listate grease which is NLA. Ragosine Oil Company became ROCOL who now make Saphire grease but don't think there is a direct replacement for the Listate grease as it contained lead which is not allowed now.

Thanks for the reply.

For the grease I have some Castrol Multipurpose Grease (extreme pressure), which lots of people on forums have said is fine, apart from one who claims it will become a solid and burn the motor out. Lots of people for V one against so I'll give it a go.

The for the oil, the only lubricant I have (apart from engine oil), is carbon dapper oil. I'm assuming that's not suitable?

Cheers
Chris.
