I got the conversion at "Rimmer Brothers". http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-GRID006189
I think they really set the car off, especially since it was the first TR to NOT come standing on wires.

I agree on the wheels. The chrome wire wheels just look "RIGHT" on the black car, as well as beautiful.

Oh, the car looks great too. We'll done.

I also like the looks of the wire wheels. There was a guy here for a while about two years ago with wire wheels, a blue car I believe. He has since sold the car.

I beg to differ. I'm in the group that feels that wires wheels are from a different era, only alloys look good on a wedge. It's not the wire wheels that look good on a black car, it's the black car that looks good on the wires. not the same thing.[8D]

My turn.

Chromed wire wheels remind me of the TV commercials where the male model in the $750 suit is strolling away from whatever product's being sold with the arm candy in 5" heels cuddling by his side. It all looks fabulous until the first muddy pot hole is encountered. In my world, it's hard enough keeping the car reasonably clean as it is without making life just that more difficult.

But, they do look great on someone else's car.

I do agree with Mildred! They are hard to keep clean.

I still like the look of them, but I have alloy wheels on both my cars.

As you see, in one of my photo's, I also own a 1971 Aston Martin DBS straight 6. In the Aston world, a DBS with alloys is a V8, (the wires couldn't take the torque.) So I am used to cleaning wires. I rotate them when cleaning. Spare goes on the offside rear, and it is clean. Offside rear takes approx 45 mins to totally clean. It goes on nearside front. and so on. I expect the same with the Triumph. Yes, I have a set of 5 wires for the Triumph. It's a labour of love to make your car look good, and that's the end of the story. How about we take a survey? Wire wheels on a wedge, yes or no? And I'll start it off, by opening a new topic now.
