The Sun cheekily peeked out from behind a frowning black cloud and as the shimmering suns beams cast a glittering shower of cascading rays on the sad unkempt back yard that passes for a professional working area I made merry with my King Dick and twiddled feverishly with my adjustable whilst fruitlessly seeking a socket that would fit my sump-plug....After a long and perilous hunt through the darker reaches of the upper-garagia I chanced upon a suitable implement...
Yes... I changed my oil..fitted a new filter and some exotic Fuchs Full synth 20/50...
Oh how i laughed when I noticed the crack in the grey washing up bowl that stood in as an oil dish...pity I hadn't seen it BEFORE I filled it with old lubricant though..ho hum..twas ever thus...

Think yourself lucky that you have a sump plug.
My last toy didn't - the oil needed to be sucked out!

Sounds like a plan to me.
Pouring used engine oil all over it should tame that "sad unkempt back yard".

There was an old saying in some parts of early Oklahoma that when you dumped your crankcase oil in a hole in the ground, an oil company would set up a drilling derrick and pay lots of royalty fees.
What with the new fracking technology, it looks to happen all over again.

I don't think I have ever read such a poetic description of an oil change [:D] Looking forward to hearing about your next bit of maintenance.
