Seam sealer

Just wondering if our UK based folks have any recommendations of a good non-hardening seam sealer. Starting to put stuff back on my project car and need some seam sealer for several things like that large black metal plate that goes on top of the tunnel and under the gear lever rubber gaiter. Be good if its not too expensive because most of it will probably stay unused in the tube/tin for the next ten years.
What does everyone use?

Where the parts may need to be taken apart I have used Dum Dum. Got a couple of tins cause I couldnt find one once.

I last bought some over 20 years ago, still plenty left, could provide some if you dont want much.

Can't remember the brand I bought but recommend you get it in a tin rather than in a tube (like mastic) unless you are going to use it all at once. I started with a tube. It was pretty good but a few weeks after opening the remains were solid despite capping with polythene.

For that you could use a closed cell foam rubber strip.

Pete, thanks for reminding me, I have seen a tin of Dum Dum myself in the garage somewhere. Wonder if its still OK, must be over 20 years old like yours! Been used on most of my cars from 1960's to 1990's.
