Max towing weight.

Postby j.johnson23 » 02 Aug 2013 20:00

Is there any way I can find out the max towing weight of a TR7 in the UK?
Asking as I have been offered the loan of a caravan for next weekends 3 counties show and it sounds more appealing than a tent at my age[8D]

Depends very much on the towbar that is fitted to your car, what the owner's manual tells you and what your crooked government wants you to believe ...
This one's OK for 1300 kg (but for that it's a quality item from Belgium [:D])

Am I the only one who have realised the strength of the rear bumper bar itself?
With reinforced fixings it is well enough strong to handle the towed weights
allowed for the TR8, no extra heap of steel weight is needed:

Rules - are meant to be bent, or circumvented... [;)]

It's a matter of getting an inspector who understands maths.
