dashboard trim

I'm refitting a fresh interior into the TR7 FHC. New sound deadening, carpets, parcel shelf, and seats. I've renewed my heater with new foam and heater matrix but cant' put the dash back in until I've come up with a solution for the missing rubber finisher that fits on the outside of the dash near the windscreen. I've tried vinyl hose split down the middle and that was too shiny and didn't "sit" correctly like rubber does. I've gone through weather stripping isles at the local hardware store, but nothing has come to mind.
What have others done? Can someone help me out?

The part number you're looking for is ZKC420. Rimmers states it is no longer available. MacGregor Car Parts doesn't list it. Unless you can luck out in to finding something that can substitute I would contact Robsport or S&S Prep in the UK for a used part.

Try your local glass company. I've seen that type of trim on household mirrors/glass.

You may have more luck if you try a specialist supplier. Use a search engine. In my area East Kent Trim supplies have a range of rubber finishing strips. Regards

With some reworking you can get the SD1 version (still available)to fit. It needs some carefull cutting and moulding though.

Thanks fellas. Croydebay, please do have a look. I'll be checking my local glass shop this weekend trekcarbonboy. Chubster, I'm going to leave your option until last since I've tried to jury-rig something up first.

I'm pretty sure I have a couple of those. I'll take a look tonite after work.
Do you want to give me your email and I'll send you a picture.
I'm a little closer, on Vancouver island.
By the way sounds like it's going to be a very nice driver need to post some pictures.

Ok, so far I've found all the boxes it's not in but I'm sure it's in the box above the car in the garage. Tomorrow I'll move the car and get up there.

You say you've tried Vinyl hose split, how about flat black vacuum hose split? Ill have to go out and see what your talking about im the morning, but from your attempt description that sounds like a viable option.

I found it! How do you want me to get it to you?
If I put it on greyhound it should get to you in a couple days.

Tried emailing you Mike from our profile but it came back.
That reminded me to update my profile so my email is now correct.
