I got tr7 1980. The flasher, brake lights and wiper quite working on me any hope to get them to work and where should I check All the bulb are ok fuses ok what next?????

I can't see off hand any commonality in these. Did they stop working at the same time? By flashers do you mean the emergebcy flashers or the signal lights? There is an emergency flasher unit by the fuse panel you can check to see if you have power to it. If so it may be faulty init. If you mean signal light, the unit is by steering column under the dash.

If no brake lights, it might be switch by the brake pedal. I had my Delco switch dead (round contact plate) in one spot and replaced it with the Lucas one from Yellow TCT.

No wipers could be wiper switch or motor. You have to see if you have power to the switch then at the motor. You need a wiring diagram for year and market of your car. They are in the OEM manual if you don't have one you can download it from jclay's website. Just follow it step by step on the particular circuit you are concerned with. Don't get confused with all the rest. Zeroing in on the area that concerns you makes it quite simple. Relating the diagram to actual points in the car is trickier. Much fun can be had.[:p]

Fuse ends should be clean, I always test fuse with ohm meter just to be sure fuse isn't broken at end where you can't see it. The metal caps sometimes come loose from the glass on old fuses.

A word of caution. Advice given to me by an ex Lucas apprentice, now with his own Auto Electricians business here. Only use English fuses which can be identified by the fact that their fuse wire is soldered on the outside of the two fuse caps. Chinese & Japanese fuses are fastened inside the caps with "dry solder " which can give a dry connection. I learnt this when my 8's indicators would not work but the hazards did. My Lucas guy explained that the 2 indicator bulbs did not draw enough current to bridge the dry connection but on hazards the now 4 bulbs drew enough current to bridge it.
Check your fuses.

to fl spider.

they were ok last fall when i put it away for winter. I did some reading could it be the light or emergency switch in dash i got no signal or emergency and brake light. If i put the 2 wire from the brake pedal switch togheter the light should come on if the switch is faulty?

Much of the same was sketchy on my '81 when I got it. Pulled the flasher switch, cleaned all the terminals, replaced it, and it was a good day in my garage. [:D]

By passing the brake switch should turn on the brake lights. I would pull the headlight switch and hazard switch and take them apart and clean contacts. I used metal polish to clean them up and put some dielectric grease on them. Take pics as you take it apart as it can go back together different ways. I didn't and had to spend time figuring out n/o and n/c of the different pins.

Check the fuses again - and as suggested - clean the contacts.

The fan in my ventilation system tends to stop working about every 18 months.

o fault can be found, but power is not getting across the fuse. Nothging is blown, there is no corrosion. Both the fuse & the holder are showing bright chrome, but no power passes.

After removal of the fuse, & a clean with contact cleaner all is well again, for another 18 months or so.
