Waringstown TR7's?

Postby Benzo » 22 Apr 2013 12:26

So on friday i found myself in Waringstown, co. Down here in Ireland..

Why is the forum called Waringstown TR7's?

I havent noticed many other N.Ireland owners posting on the forum!

Back in the day there was a guy called Kyle who either started or was involved in running this forum. He had a website called WaringstownTR7s which has now closed but Jclay saved the technical stuff off the site.

Don't think Kyle is around the TR7 scene any more.

Do you did Kyle have a British racing green, Arches TR7 V8 with 15" minilights?

There used to be a guy that hillclimbed with me in a TR7 v8 and im pretty sure his name was kyle!

Actually I think there were 2 guys, John Egerton & Kyle Carson running the WaringstownTR7s website. I think one of them had a blue TR7 but cannot be sure. They were very active in TR7 circles for a while.

Maybe someone else recalls more details?

Hi Benzo, If I remember John Egerton and his wife had a baby and a 2-seater could no longer be justified. He sold and bought a Porsche 944. Not sure what he has now. I have a friend who knows him so if you want to get in contact and I easily get his details.

I live in Antrim and I know of a couple other TR7 owners nearby. Now, tell us a about thsi BMW v8 transplant- will it fit in a TR7?

Well no it doesn't fit! But it will when I cut the bulkhead out and have a new subframe made and new sump built with a different oil pump.

There is more info on the car in the projects / blogs section under 'track car progress'

Nice to know of some more owners locally, I'm L'Derry based.
