Rubber seals top of windscreen

Gents,

I am trying to figure out the part number for the two steel reinforced seals on the horizontal frame above the top of the windscreen (windshield). One is right up against the glass and the other is along the trailing edge and seals against the soft top. I find the drawing and descriptions in the parts book and Rimmers confusing (to me anyhow).

Image

Part numbers are
YKC3610 - edge finisher windscreen
ZKC1432 - seal-trim rail-windscreen

When I pulled off my windshield (almost a year ago), the tan coloured seal was against the windscreen (My car was Midas gold) and the soft top seal was black. But, Rimmers shows multi-coloured seals ZKC, what looks like the soft top seal in the diagram.

Anyone know which is supposed to be up against the glass versus the soft top?

Thanks.

Martin

Hi Martin,
I see what you are saying. I think Rimmers have got their drawing wrong and it should be the ZKC seals against the windscreen which are the coloured ones and YKC3610 at the rear against the hood which will be the black rubber one.

Cheers,
Dave

The Rimmers' drawing and part numbers are straight from the parts book, but that doesn't clear up which is which....... [V]

UPDATE: Mystery cleared up. I just looked at the parts diagram for the TR7 hard top and it shows ZKC1432 as the seal against the windscreen, the opposite of what appears to be shown in the soft top parts diagram. And, based on what I've seen on both hard tops and convertibles, the hard top diagram is correct.
Typical British.......[:D]
