Who didn't? But it was Honor Blackman that really did it for me.

The viewpoint from the other gender side of the coin remembers Mrs Peel fondly, as well. Not only was she stylish, sophisticated, smart, and had great hair, she was as good a shot with a pistol as I am with a rifle. All that, and not one bit obnoxious with the feminist jingoism that was mouthing off in those days.

Nice car, too. It was too small to fit my frame but was nice to look at.

Watching re-runs of the New Avengers every afternoon here on ITV4 at the moment.
In the current series, Steed drives the "Big Cat" Jaguar, Gambit has an XJS and Purdey is driving an MGB.

The later episodes are better for the TR7. The last few episodes were filmed in Canada and It's Gambit (Gareth Hunt) who gets to drive a Red Victory edition.

Don,

I think it has more to do with age than location; I still lived in Oregon in those days...

Avengers Update, todays 1977 episode had Purdey driving her famous yellow TR7.
We also got to see in Steed's garage where there was his "Big Cat" Jaguar, a straw coloured Rover SD1 and a Range Rover.
Steed spent some time wringing the neck of the SD1 with a fair bit of sideways action.

Just noticed on Ebay several of the Purdey yellow TR7 for sale at over £100. wow.

The notes that came with my Avengers box set indicate the yellow TR7 was "cancelled" and replaced after just a few episodes due to unspecified problems. Ouch.
