How many TR7/8's do you have?

Hi,
I was trying to explain to the Wife recently that its normal for people like us to have more than one TR7/8! She just didn't get it! But being a Woman I didn't think she would [:D]
And when I say "I would really like that TR7" She says "you don't need another one" they just don't understand!!

So I thought I would start this post and then hopefully she can see its very 'normal' after all!

I have,

1980 FHC 3.5 Black Premium limited edition...Still working on it.
1981 DHC 2.0 Champagne.............................Just needs MOT.
1981 DHC 3.5 Red Grinnall..............................Almost finished.

Cheers, Dave

I have the same problem except my better half cannot understand why I need one let alone two (I feel the need for a coupe in addition to the DHC). She does not like going in the TR - too low, feels too fast and makes a mess of the hair etc! I have even said I would get rid of some of the Saabs (gave one to my son and he is stripping another for parts) but she still dosen't understand.

One is more than enough. However, I do have lots of spare parts, and lots of tools, and lots of sore back joints and muscles from crawling under, into, and on top of it.

I read recently about the farmer who went to Burma to hopefully dig up about 124 Supermarine Spitfires. Who is he kidding? Only one of those treasures would keep a soul neck deep in projects for the next three reincarnated lifetimes just keeping up with the maintenance.

It is possible, you know, to get TOO greedy.

As far as TR7's, I have the Spider and a 1979 (registered as 1980 but really isn't) with 30,000 miles that I bought for $100 with no rust other than right rear sill and spare wheel well. Other cars though.

Plenty of people in our club have multiple collector cars (of other makes) it's not unusual.

2 TR7's which are insured and MOT'ed and thus road-legal, pictures below.
And more than enough parts to build 4 more (equally divided between 2 FHC's and 2 DHC's)

We are regular guys and only have 1 x TR7 fhc which is on the road, it is the 2nd we have owned the Inca Yellow one was on a self destruct mission which no sane person working at normal speeds could prevent, rust.

In between the 2 TRs I owned 19 Jago Jeeps (+ errr.. a Mini Scamp) - at one point we had 5 of them here. Obsession can be a dangerous thing :D as I'm sure you have been told previously, my wife says it too!
I still have a JagoJeep- the Ninja which is MOTd but regretfully I am in the slow process of selling it so I can concentrate on the TR7 :)

For those wishing to know what a Jago Jeep is here is an image

ideal for those who say TR7's are too low :D

I was only supposed to have one but have somehow ended up with two. Both taxed tested and road legal. The theory is that I will move all my good stuff onto the best bodyshell and scrap the other but its not worked out just yet.

So I have a 1980 TR7 DHC with a Sprint engine but a rough body and a 1981 TR7 DHC with a tidy(ish) body that will eventually have the Sprint engine, the SD1 Vitesse brakes etc etc.
