Where is my Wedge?

Hi all
I miss my TR7. The clue is in my user name. NDT 203R was mine in the late 80's. Red with black interior and a 4 speed box. Bought with 52k on the clock and sold with 88k. Does it still live? Would love to know if it does. Can give you some interesting stories about the car and certain events associated with it!!!

Given it's nearly 23 yrs since it was last registered I suspect it (sadly) no longer lives. But perhaps you've been using it (in part) each time you have stirred your tea over the intervening years.
You should buy another - a good one that comes with another two decades of interesting stories and probably a range of upgrades.

Another TR7 first registewred in Sheffield. Probably sold by Hatfields,the same people who supplied our Pageant blue FHC HDT 837W.

Is it just me or does anyone else have trouble grasping that 1990 was nearly 23 years ago? It doesn't seem like that long ago. My son was born in 1991 and he is now buying his own beer, legally. No, it just doesn't seem like that long ago.

I'm sure that I'm not alone in that your reality is my nightmare. I do really enjoy and celebrate every day I have with him. He recently completed his first major automotive repair successfully. He had no shop classes in high school. He read up on the process and queried his old man for pointers. I'll admit that I did go out and help him just a little a couple times when he was getting frustrated. Mostly though he did it all by himself. My garage was a mess and tools were everywhere. When he finished he cleaned everything up and my tools are now better organized than when he started. I am very very proud of his work. He had a blown head gasket on his 1990 Saab 900 Turbo. The thing runs like a top now. He is already planning on more maintenance. The only thing better would be if I could get him into Triumphs. The Saab isn't too bad though. Sorry to highjack this thread.

There's no way an under 22 male in the UK could insure a Saab Turbo without tapping his parents for the cash.
Insurance is crippling over here for young blokes, although IIRC its changing soon as insurance companies won't be able to bias premiums any more towards girls who have fewer accidents.
When my son uses the tools I have a major hunt finding them again.

Thanks everyone for all the varied responses. It looks like the car expired many years ago. I have not given up on buying another one and may just go for a convertible this time??????? I am not a slave to originality. Most cars I restore have "sympathetic improvements" so I am open minded to what is out there. Not sure but I think I still have my original Haynes manual![:D]

Adam, the Saab and the insurance are in my name. He is listed as the primary driver of it. The rates are high, $183 a month for the minimum the law requires. We had a good student discount when he was still in high school. He totaled the '89 300ZX we gave him a week after he got his license when he was 16. He has had the Saab ever since. He also has one speeding ticket from about 2 years ago. Those two incidents are why insurance is so high. Our '07 Subaru Outback 2.5 has more horsepower without a turbo. I'm not sure why a 22 year old Turbo Saab would be so high.

He and his partner run a '90 Mini and the Saab as a family car, reckon the Saab is about £750pa insurance for them both IIRC, and he managed to write off his first Mini when he was 17!
