Well I finally sold my property and storage shed so I had to spend sone time clearing out old stuff. Pretty much stipped down and removed anything that I will be needing.

So off they go

Yup. Getting rid of the project, no time to go any further. Stripped all the big brake kit that I previously had on hte SD1 and anything that was good that I thought I might have a use for. I removed the doors, bonnet, boot lid and complete interior from the DHC but it is just to far gone in the floors and rockers to bring back to life so I might just look for another project DHC that needs less work. Have to get prmission from the other half though first. I need a new home for the 4L on the stand.

Hmmm, I could-a used the rear bumper cover and the plastic grilles off of the coupe. If the coupe was a four speed, the axles would have made good spares. Oh, and the window glass with the window regulators, and the tail lights, and plastic grilles behind the doors could have been good candidates for a port hole project, and may as well throw in the side marker lights too.

How was the steering wheel? Were the turn indicator and wiper switches okay? How about the mirror? And the seat cushions. And the console lid. And the front bumper. If the car is an automatic, it would have the coveted 3.27:1 differential ratio and if the car is a four speed the 3.63:1 ratio is still worth wrapping in a plastic sack and stowing away for a rainy day. And the...

This is just from the coupe, I haven't even started on the convertible.

What I can't figure out is how you folded down the windscreen on the DHC when you put coupe on top of it?[:p]

All lights were removed before leaving along with switches in the dash steering wheel had a good chunk eaten out of it bu something furry as did seats, rear glass cracked(did not have the time to try and remove the front) Bumper covers on the coupe were just not woth keeping. As seen n the pictures the DHC has been totaly stripped apart from axle and front end all of which I have many spares of. I did keep bumpers from the DHC and grill as well as door sill trims, light buckets and mech, complete interior including dash. Have had several of these that I have sripped many parts from over the years so the coupe had a few pieces left that for me were just not worth keeping as I already have 2 or 3 others. Never thought about keeping anything from the four speed axle.

No Jeep winsheild hinges here. Did not stand up to the front end loader very well.

The DHC was actualy the first car I ever bought. I got ti the day before turning 18. I kept it all these years and took it off the road about 14 years ago with the intension of bringing it back to life at some point but unfortunatly the emotional attachement will not out weigh the cost that would be needed to do it. It make's much more sense to just get a DHC in much better shape that will not require structural work. As said befor I kept the doors and boot as well as bonnet which are all in very good shape. With the sale of my property and shed space it leaves many stored projects without a home so... Anybody have a need for a 30' speed boat or travel trailer??

Ahhhh ...it's just sad to see what appears to be a straight coupe shell go to waste though .....

Trying to keep just one ongoing project is not easy but you may just be right that there might be another WHT FHC V8 soon. Have a line on 2 8's without floors in them and possibly one more. Last night I think I got permission to go ahead with it so I'm taking it as a "yes" I will still no doubt get in trouble when the trailer comes home but I will make up for in in a few weeks when I bring home her Christmas present on the same trailer!

The '77 looked not tobad on the ouside but turned out to be an awfull lot of bondo in it. Shame about the floors being good.

Yes you guy's over there do take on some very far gone projects that most people here would not be bothered with but when it is so easy to find decent cars to stat with it just does not make "cents" (pun intended)

I would have loved to keep every single part from them both but my shelves are full right now with everything from factory new rockers and new front wings, rear wings, both rebuilt and not calipers of the 2 and 4 piston kind, wheel cylinders, masters, axles from 3.9, 3.08, 2.84, dash one BLK one MG complete 4cyl 2L, 3.5L, 4L, x3 5 speeds, numerous steel wheels, x2 sets of coupe doors, x1 set DHC doors, Double bump bonnet, x2 boot lids, x2 complete light sets, etc, etc you get the picture

I have not even started in on the SD1 stuff

With the sale of my storage shed I'm down to just my home 2+ garage and 11x14shed so things are getting tight for where I can hide this stuff around the house (My wife knows all my hidding spots)
