Hi,
Have you seen 'real' Minilites on fleabay at the moment, rough looking would be a understatement and cheap not !!

You can with a stock rear axle go with a back spacing mximum of 4.761"/117mm that has a +4mm offset where you have about 3/4" clearance with the shock. With this back space on a 8" wide rim you can clear the long forest arches like on the RAC cars by 1/4". With the wide arches you can go up to 10" wide with the deep 4.761" back space. The key is to remove as much as possible the stock metal fender arch. I had 13x8 superlites with a 235/45/13 tire with the specifications mentioned above on my project car. The front is another issue. If you go with the stock springs then you will be limited because of the inside of the rim to spring clearances. I had Superlite 13x7 fronts with a -7mm off set and back space of 93mm with a 205/60/13 tire and they fit fine with works bilstein struts and a 2.5" diameter spring.

Here in the US the 13" tyres are rare. I went to 15x7 fronts and 15x8 rears with 225/45/15s on all four corners from the 13x7s and 13x8s.

I got a set of 14" from Midland Wheels and there is a reasonable tyre choice for 14". These 195/60x14 tyres are same rolling diameter as the standard car 185/70x13 within 2mm so don't affect the gearing.
