I wonder if those seats would fit a Wedge? (I suppose you have to be a golfer to appreciate the tartan pants.)

You could probably buy several TR7's for the cost of those seats.

Way too esoteric file: Was Triumph tartan 'authentic' clan?
BTW, first tartan (leather & wool) interior was late 40s Chrysler Highlander. I had one. I'm rethinking Scotland the Brave interior work already...

Nah I don't think the tartan pattern used by triumph was from any clan, they probably didn't want to offend the other clans and end up with claims of favouritism.
I want to redo my seats in one of our clan's (McPherson) tartan.

As a child of the 50's, coming of age in the 60's, and couldn't see the point of the 70's (the music died after Janis Joplin and Jimmy Hendrix, not Buddy Holly) I could never get my head around plaid (except on Scottish kilts of course).[8D]

I seen to remember reading somewhere that the tartan was completely "clan free".

I believe the tartan was a salute to the accounts department at BL. [:D]

Maybe the tartan was a bit of mickey taking aimed at Rootes Hillman Imp, built in Scotland I believe. It used to rust at the first sign of moisture, whereas the TR7 would....ah,erm, maybe not then. I'll get me coat.
Clayps.
What's that coming over the hill? Is it a monster?
