Look what I collected today

Just collected this matched 1980 stamped set of original TR8 factory alloys this morning which came from a TR8 DHC imported from I believe Nevada some years ago. No physical damage just the usual lacquer lifting.

Are they identical to those which would have been fitted to a UK spec TR7 of the period or was there anything different for the TR8 versions?

They're the same. Unless you've got a genuine TR7 Spider...

Curious - What happened to the rest of the '8?

I saw that this morning too. It's been converted to RHD, fitted with a bodykit (looks like it could be a Rimmers one) and is sitting on period Wolfrace alloys. All the smog gear is still fitted to the engine too which must be quite rare these days. Whilst talking to the owner I got the impression that it might well be for sale in the next year or two.

Just dropped them off to be refurbed this morning. Should collect them before the end of the week.

Just collected the refurbed wheels. Shot blasted and powder coated in "german silver". Just need to source a decent set of suitable wheel nuts now.

They look really grate. I hope you've still got the centers.

With these hub centric wheels, they are essential to keep the wheels centered, & in balance.

A couple of them may be a little battered, but should come up well. You were really lucky to get a full set of them. I have about 9 of the wheels, but only 2 of the centers. Too many people unfortunately don't realise they are an important part of the system.

thats a fantastic deal for a refurb ....over here it's about 100 to 125 per rim!

Possibly yes, not sure which would be best as I've also had a set of 14" x 7" Alleycats done by the same people although I chose a lacquered chrome finish last time and 195/60 x 14 tyres seem a bit easier to come by than 185/70 x 13's.

OK, so further research on my part has revealed that the factory alloys weren't available back in the day for my '76 model year FHC so it wouldn't be right, to me anyway, to fit them to my car. The original steels have grown on me too so I think I'll stick to them for 13" wheels with my 14" allycats as the option.

This means I have this set of refurbed original alloys with centres going spare. They stand me at £150 (if I right off the travel costs to experience). The wheel centres are a little bent but look salvageable and they are essential for correct fitment so I'm informed.

Anybody want them for £150?

Apologies if this should be in the "For Sale" section but I'll put them in there too if there's no quick response.
