I don't see any magazine covers in the US, but every time I take the car out I get good comments and questions. The other day it was parked at a store and when I came out there was a group of people taking pictures of themselves posed in front of it! I think there is a whole generation (or two) that don't know or care about their old reputation.

I can't believe this car was ever conceived! It's totally unreliable. Warped head at the drop of a hat. Lucas electrics, what a joke. You get a headache from banging your head every time you try to get into the car. Those four lug nuts spoil the entire wheel appearance. I looked at one side then walked around the car to see they did the same thing over there. What a horror! An absolute HORROR!!! And those headlights, the less said the better.
I bet this is the most worst car ever made from the 1970's decade. Why, one must have been a complete fool to even think of riding in one much less actually paying good money the hideous thing. The sooner they all are crushed, the better.

Does any of the above diatribe sound familiar? It sure still rings in my ears after some 36 years.

A DHC would fix that problem Craig. [;)]
I actually had a guy in a Jag S type yell at me in traffic a couple weeks ago, "Is that a TR8?" I was amazed. He was behind me until I got stopped by a red light, so he could hear it. Usually they don't have a clue what it is or think that it is a TR7.

I was parked at Wal-mart Saturday before last. A guy walked up and complimented on the car and saying you don't see these anymore. He wanted to know if I was going to car show on Sunday. I said I'd be there (seeing as it was my club's annual show and I was to be there at 8:00am to help set up. I was kind of surprised he knew about it as posters where delayed and I didn't know if any made it up locally.

I had a bloke standing around in a small shopping centre car park one day, come up to me, the moment I started the 8.
He had heard me drive in, with that lovely rumble, but had not seen the car, & had waited to see what made that sound.
He said he "could not believe that sound came out of that little thing", & wanted to know what had made it.
I don't help people figure out what it is. I never did get round to putting any badges or stickers on the car, after it was painted 5 or 6 years back.

I've been followed into a parking lot and then asked, "When did they start making Triumphs again?"
Shape of things to come...back.

Here is proof positive that at least one person at this car show was interested in my TR7.
