Hi,
A while ago I bought this wiper control from Rimmers...
but they didn't have the connecters that go with the control; can anyone tell me where I can order them / ref.code?
Greetings,J.

It is meant to be directly fitted between the connectors from switch to the wiring loom.
But clearly in your case the connectors are wrong, so this interval control is not for a TR7.
In case you want to change the connectors have a look at the site of Rick Donkers (

I'm pretty sure this has come up before.
The delay unit is fitted to later cars and whilst it will physically plug into earlier cars, it won't work because the positions of the wires themselves are in different places within the plugs. so its a case of finding out where the wires go and move them within the plugs.
If anyone knows different? but I'm pretty sure that was the case!
Cheers, Dave

Hi,
The connectors won't fit physically on my 78 model at least not near the steering collum where I aspect it to be fitted or should I look somewhere else?.
Greetings, J.

It only fits <u>directly</u> into the '81 harness version. All the earlier ones are way different...
For instance the male/female nacelle plugs are the other way around in the '81 with the male plug
on the harness part where the earlier ones had the female (and vice verse). I did mine when I had
the harness + dash apart - wouldn't want to do it any other way, it's far to cramped in there to work...
But the one you have in the picture <u>sure</u> looks different to the TR7/8 version (!)
since yours have connectors three pins wide and two rows high (and the TR7/8 version had connections for
the 5-pin Rists connectors who have two rows of pins two wide and a single pin on top in the third row)
so I'm positive you've got one intended for some unknown other vehicle!

Don,
that's the one for the 1981 TR7/TR8. There were none for the pre-1981 wiring harness... But, as stated above,
it's easy to re-arrange the connectors on the harness to suit the '81 wiper control's solution.
And if everyone compare that very first picture of the thread starter and yours here: The difference in
connector standards that I wrote about earlier are plain visible - the first one is clearly for some other
unknown vehicle. Doesn't say <u>it</u> won't function as intended - but it's a lot more work to fit it into a TR7/8...

Thanks Odd
In SC , I think there will be more of a chance of using the wipers than the NW.

The first picture one looks to be from an early Maestro/Montego.
