Hi, new boy here.

I'm the proud owner of an 81 TR7 V8 3.5 soon to be 4.6. last night whilst finishing off a bottle of wine, I bid on a pair of Princess calipers and won them. Having felt rather chuffed with myself I now have the issue of obtaining discs. I don't think I can use the princess discs?

Can anybody point me in the right direction please.

Hi Johnyred,

[:D] WELCOME TO THE BEST TR7 / 8 FORUM IN THE WORLD EVER [8D]

Depends if your's have a spacer to allow running of vented discs ?

I once ran a set of these back on my old 3.5 FHC and that was a Rimmer Bros kit that used stock TR8 discs, these fitted inside the standard wheels.

These gents may be able to help -

Always great to see pictures of others TR's so please feel free to post some. And Fleabay and booze always a dangerous combination [;)]

Cheers John

Welcome, agree with John and I used it too in the rather distant past.
First work out what thickness discs you need.

I have princess discs on mine and unless I am much mistaken the car is fitted with standard discs (and green stuff pads)

Cheers for the welcolm and direction guys. I'm thinking spacers and Crapri 2.8i discs at the mo.

Fleabay and booze got me the TR in the first place! I was looking for P38 Range Rover with a knackered engine at the time for my 300 mile 4.6. Second bottle had me thinking, sod the P38 what else can I stick my lump in! Bingo a TR...

Dumb question but how do stick a picture on[?]

That is a tasty looking car. Full credit.

I use Princess calipers over Ford Mondeo discs that have been redrilled & had the centre openned out to fit. The hubs have spacers to make it work. The benefit is that the Mondeo discs are much cheaper than Capri discs.

That looks simple. Did you have the spacers made up your self or supplied?

The hub was engineered by a previous owner. I don't do engineering, I do finangling but it is a pretty straight-forward spacer system. Now that I look at it I have to ask myself why the outer spacer needs to be there. It may have been necessary for the wheels the PO was using at the time.

Thanks Peter.
I’m going to chuck some princess discs on for now and mess about with the hubs later when the car go's in for the engine swap.
Thanks for the advice and picture. A picture speaks louder than words and seeing is believing.
