Whats the easiest method of taking lights out for painting
undoing bolts inside lamp pod or taking out the pod and motor assembly in one

When preparing the DHC for the repaint I just removed the pods
and left the lifting mechanism and wiring in place ...

Take care not to damage the rubber grommet/plug that seals the hole where the wiring enters the headlamp bowl.

And you have to remove the three connectors from the plastic blocks
that goes to the headlamp unit ...

Otherwise you can't remove the loom from the headlamp bowl
Some very fine screw drivers will make light work of removing them
