Hi all, just got myself a 1980 TR7 DHC, very nice car, looks really good but needs a new hood as there are two great big holes in this one. Can anyone recommend a good place to purchase one from ? I am looking for a blue PVC with matching stowage cover. Any tips, general advice would be much appreciated. Have loved TR7's for a long time but this is the first one I have owned. Thanks

Hi Kevin & welcome to the forum!

Original hoods are hard to come by, but there are replacements sold by all the TR7 specialists.

Try Rimmers, Robsport or S&S Preparations - all have web sites.

Generally try to avoid a used hood as it may not fir properly on a different car. Also bear in mind that you may need to get the new hood professionally fitted unless you are confident to do it yourself.

Hi Kevin,

[:)] WELCOME TO THE BEST TR7 / 8 FORUM IN THE WORLD EVER [8D]

Try these gents -

Or

As far as fitting, the hotter the day the better, makes the PVC more plyable and have a read of this article by a gent, JClay, on here loads of good advice -

I got my mohair blue hood from s&s, best to get a profressional fitter for best resultd, but you can do it your self.

Thanks everyone for the advice, I have seen one on Rimmerbros.co.uk that will do the job nicely. I am going to get it professionally fitted, just looking round the Shropshire area for the best place.
