Tony Beadle

Postby Ianftr8 » 08 Jan 2012 17:49

I have just had the sad news that Tony Beadle has died following surgery for a heart condition.
Tony was for a long time the editor of "Triumph World" magazine of which many of you will know and has featured many of our cars.
I was not aware of his outstanding knowlage of American cars and dragsters.

I met Tony on a few occasions and found him to be a very friendly and entertaining chap, I for one will miss him very much.

Cheers

Ian

sad news indeed, the name does sound familiar to me but not from triumph marque, was avid street machine reader and love drag racing, many condolences indeed....

I met Tony when he did the first Triumph World article about our Coke car. This was about 2005, issue 67. He was a true Triumph enthusiast and knew his stuff when writing about our cars. He was more famous in his younger days as one of the few British drag racers. My condolences to his wife and son.

That was in 2006. I picked up the magazine in a drugstore to read on the long bus ride down to Sacramento in June 2006 to pick up my Spider that I had just won on eBay. Always sad to lose a member of the classic car community.
