tr7 non start

hi all new here
just bought a 1977 drophead 2lfr partly restored
upon trying to start engine i found i had no spark upon investigation i found the wiring loom had been chopped and all wires between dist and coil were non existent could anyone help with any info regarding what wire i need and connectios i need to make fo get a spark at the points also any other components that should be present as it only has the coil have read workshop manual but cant make any sense of it any help would be very much apprieciated

There should be a connection from the negative side of the coil to the points. The Tacho signal also attaches to the negative side of the coil. The positive side of the coil is connected via a ballast resistor to a 12v supply switched by the ignition switch.

If the starter operates, you can temporarily hot-wire it as follows to get it runnning.
Connect a wire from the battery positive terminal to the coil positive terminal.
Connect a wire from the Coil negative terminal to the distributor (points).
