Original Girling dampers with original spec soft springs [}:)]

I install KYB gas shocks in the wifes TR7 and it rides quite nicely now. Make sure your existing springs are not worn out first. They are not the expensive to replace so it might be a good thing to do regardless.

I have Spax shocks in my 7 and the 8 which I like. They offer a much firmer ride which works well in autocross. They generate considerably more grumbling from the wife on rough roads as well.

I use KYB shocks with new standard front springs but hard black poly in the front and higher tire pressures make the ride pretty stiff but you get less nose dive, less body lean, sharper steering input and all round handling. It's a trade off.
