TR vs MG fall rally
Posted: 23 Oct 2011 00:48
Had a great time at the fall rally today. Only wedge to show up although 2 of the other guys have wedges also. Really fun roads for a LBC. We covered 58 miles and figure we had accumulated enough points to at least be in contention. Didn't win but at least the Triumph club took back the "Lucas Cup" from the MG club.
Had to cut it a little short though, bad noise started coming from the front. At first I thought it was the fan clutch but fortunately ended up just being the alternator bearings. Made it to the finish and just took off the belt for the ride home. Low 60's today so no problem keeping it cool. Only 40 min from home so no problem on battery power.
Anybody know if the 1980 air cond 95amp alt will work in a 75 with no air. I'll check the search after I'm done with this post.
Friend Jordan was my navigator. Next time remind me to find a navigator that DOES NOT weigh 240lbs![:D] Or I should just get a V8
GPS of our route.
This Turkey had a thing for the Spitfire. Even tried to get in the window!
Cars at the finish. Only 4 MG's showed up.
Hood up at the finish![B)] Easy fix. Didn't make it to the lineup though.
