Just got back from Triumphest 2011.

I know that I need to do some work on the front hubs after installing Ted's big bearing hubs, but it was over 100 degrees again today. So . . .

I went down to my local mechanic to have him adjust the bearing and check the run out.

First he didn't believe what I said the problem was and had one of his guys drive my car. Then he started arguing with me about what the problem was. After about 5 minutes of him telling me my rotors needed to be turned and me telling me that just needed to be changed 180 degrees on the hub. I said, "Take it off the rack and I will just fix it myself!"

I just hate it when someone who knows nothing about our cars tries to tell me what is wrong with mine!

had similar problems when put mine in for 1st mot, guy insisted my indicators were flashing too fast as i had removed the side ones, took me half hour to explain the running light option on american versions to explain the holes and them showed him the rimmers catalogue to finally convince him, these people tend to forget that in general when you get to own a classic car you do tend to know about how they work etc............[:p]

Another good reason not to take our cars to mechanics/auto repair shops.

i don't trust them to much with my modern cars or truck.
