Tool set

I'm thinking I need to come up with a little on-board tool set to keep in the trunk. Any suggestions as to what I should fill it with? I know the first thing that's going in is a standby Oil Pressure Sensor!!

A spare credit card & a clean pair of undies.

Toolboxes are a bit like CD collections: only about 10% of the contents get used regularly. In my case that would be:
medium crescent wrench
small crescent wrench
various screwdrivers
2 x 9/16" spanner
2 x 1/2" spanner
socket set
various pliers
duct tape
hammer

2 screwdrivers, adjustable wrench, the oil pressure switch, quart of oil, electrical tape, and for anything you can't handle with these items your AAA card.

Well I'm hoping my Hagerty Insurance will cover the AAA part.

As for tools, Peter, I don't know what a "spanner" is, I'm guessing that's one of those other-side-of-the-pond words that I'm not familiar with.

This definitely gets me started, I'm sure I'll come up with additions as I learn. Now I need to get one of those "fancy" Triumph tool bags on Ebay!

Boot = Trunk
Bonnet = Hood
Hood = Roof
Tyre = Tire [;)]

13mm spanner for the battery
22m socket for the wheel nuts.

No1 and no2 pozi screw driver

Flourescence jacket

Flat blade screw driver for the hose clamps

Spark plug spanner and sparke plug.

Cable ties various sizes.

1/2" and 7/16" spanners

tape

Sticky chewing gum for pipe leaks (can be bound in place by the tape)

Lamp with wire with croc clips for basic electrical testing.

Bull nose pliers with wire cutters.

Spare car with tow rope


Most breakdowns are due an engine problem, either fuel compression or ignition, anything more is a mechanical failure which unless you cary spare parts are not roadside repairs.

This is (part of) my Wedge tool kit. I've added some more tools that I've found were needed (when helping others out!)
like a fountain pen sized butane soldering torch, oil filter, lots of electrical connectors and spare wires, jumper cables, a
tow rope, one spare-in-a-can etc etc...

Odd, you could arrested over here with some of that stuff in your car !!

I carry my AA card, phone them and use there tools to fix my car myself [:p]
