Speedo Cable Routing

I'm in the process of reassembling my TR7V8, and can't remember if the speedo cable is routed through a hole in the tranny tunnel or through the firewall beside the throttle cable.

I've looked in the manuals, but it doesn't really show the correct routing. Anyone know which is the right way?
