Gearbox Rear Oil Seal

My gearbox is leaking from the rear oil seal around the output shaft. How easy is this to replace? Can't find any info in the workshop manual.

Remove this nut and flange and pull the seal out. Check Rimmers catalog for how the parts stack up.

Bear in mind that this nut can be pretty tight.
Ideally you'll need an impact wrench.

With the correct tools it’s a 5 minute job
(with the car on axle stands)

What's the torqueage on that bolt?

Hi Don,

120 lbl ft or in new money 163 nm

Not that tight but not so easy on your back with limited room, air impact wrench is the tool for the job [:p]

When I reassembled mine I was able to get 90 ft/lbs on it. I called it good.
