Don - have you tried Ted's big bearing upgrade? If so I would be interested to hear how you got on with it.

I shipped one of Ted's kits over & tried it on my TR8 last year. I had problems with the bearing riding over the sleeve that Ted supplies for the stub axle, this meant that the wheel was constantly developing too much play. In the end I took the kit off & went back to the standard bearing set up.

John - sorry to hijack your thread! I would just advise new grease seals in the hubs, keep everything very clean and carefully tighten up when reassembling but don't over do it - a learned old motor engineer once told me that finger tight was enough with the TR7 hubs!

No need for big bearings.
Just make sure you get good quality bearings.
Adjust and grease them properly and they will last.
