Yesterday (sunday 10th April) I had just got back from OZ and was driving up from Glasgow to Aberdeen and passed a Gold TR7 FHC with sunroof and black stripe along the side going in the oposite direction near Forfar.

I then got home and seen my own car (ok I know that does not really count but still)

I then headed out to Pittodrie House Hotel and looked in the mirror to see a yellow convertible.
It was Graeme Crawford that ownes the one I posted a photo of a couple of weeks ago.


Made my day!!

On that basis I see one TR7 everyday on the way to work, a white FHC thats been stuck at a local garage for maybe 20 years. When I have my TR with me then I see 2 cars daily.

There is also 2 Morris minors, a 2 door XJ6 and now a XJS parked up long term at this garage.

Aside from club events I can't say when the last time was I saw another 7 on the road. Did see a 7 while out cycling last week though. It is tucked back a long unkept wooded drive under a shoddy tarp. House a bit run down also. Might need to ivestigate. Could be an old hairdresser that doesn't know what to do with it.[;)] I have a few ideas![:D]

I do notice that I can almost guarrantee that on any non motorway trip of 40 miles or more that 9 times out of ten you will see at least one Morris Minor on the road, parked or being driven.

Not bad for a car that was last made in 1970 [:)]

Far more common than seeing a Triumph of any kind.

Around here in Lincolnshire im afraid its MGB's you cant go more than a couple of miles without seeing one [V], were as with the 7 there is mine and Slider only lives 10 miles away then a further 10 miles away my friend Phil has one.[:)]



1980 2.0 16v DHC - Polly.

Coming back from a customer's place a few weeks ago I saw a white DHC with a for sale sign on the other side of town. I'd been down the road many times and hadn't seen it before as it is usually parked in a garage. It was licensed last year. Never saw it being driven around although the owner said he's seen me from time to time.

Other than three other TR7's for sale (one I bought for $100) I've never seen one drive around here except when I brought mine home from California I saw a girl in a green one (I don't think it was Triton, not as bright) parked at the Old Farm Market (a local produce place). I've never seen it again not even at car shows up and down the island, a real mystery TR7.

I saw a TR6 and an MGB on the road in Eugene on Saturday; a TR6 and an MGB at a swap meet in Portland last week. Three Wedges with assorted other Brits at a shop outside of Portland in February. Seems like Datsun Zs are possibly the most common classic sports cars I see on the road in Oregon and Alaska. I put about 700 miles on the 8 last week in Oregon. Of course, the only perfect blue-sky day was the day I spent with friends in their Honda CRV...

Hey I was taking a little drive along the Columbia River near downtown Vancouver, Wa on Saturday and I saw a Herald convertible with the top down. He, of course saw a TR8, but that's another story. [:D]

I have only seen 7s on the road, [other than club runs] 3 times in 10 years, & never when I am driving one of mine.

We had 4 at the track on the Saturday including the Grinnall 2+2 & 2 at the show on Sunday. Only 1 didn't have a V8 in it. [8D]

I was on holiday on the Natal south coast in November (not in the TR!). On the coast road close to Margate I saw a red drophead coming towards me and then two weeks later on the way up to Pietermaritzburg via the old roads I saw a white drophead. Around Joburg I see the odd TR6 and Spitfire plus a few MG thingys but not many TR7's unless I go to the piston ring club. Me too - I never see anything if I am in the TR7.

I live in Pittsburgh,PA and I don't recall ever seeing one on the road here once I bought it,apart from the guy I bought my first 7 from (and he had an and mbtim's on this site. The irony is,we have the Pittsburgh Vintage Gran Prix here every year (google it),and I'd say when I've shown the car,there are no less than 14 in the row,with maybe 8-9 having PA plates!

Not sure where they are hiding,but mine would like a playmate![:p]

I couldn't tell you the last time I have seen a road going TR7 and I travel through NSW,QLD,VIC,ACT and WA, its quiet sad.

morris minors i agree with, however i can not recall every having passed a tr7 whilst out driving, spitfires herlads stags mg's but no tr7s must be my bad luck it would be nice to find someone local ish to discuss issues and maybe have the odd helping hand!

I stay next to triumph rover spares so see a few going in and out of there but not seen many on the road.
