A couple weeks ago I purchased a brake distribution valve on ebay. The reason for buying it is to send it to Ted Schumacher and have him modify it to be adjustable. However, when it arrived, what I got was not exactly the same as what was in the picture.
this is the actual picture from the auction

this is what was sent to me

They look similar, but clearly they are not the same. What I was sent is a bit shorter and has some sort of sensor. The valve currently in my car looks like the top picture.
Does anybody recognize the valve in the lower picture? Is it perhaps from a different year?
Most importantly, can I simply remove the sensor & plug the hole and use it in my car?

The switch rides on shuttle valve designed to cut off flow to one of the lines if you loose pressure. This will not work on your car. Just bleeding the unit will cut off the front or the rear brakes. You would have to remove the switch to make it float. There is already one in the master cylinder on our cars.

Send it back and get the right unit. It is definitely English, but it looks like a unit from my old Dodge Dart.
