Those of you who read the WWWedge mailing list know (probably too well ) that I'm trying to redo a project that Richard Connew and Clay Thompson both started at different times, collect photos of every colour wedge ever made just to give you an idea of what a particular colour looks like. I think my timing was right this time as there are now enough digital cameras that I've got them ALL except some maybe-not-used colours and these:

Topaz
Ermine White
Maple

Whites are generally white so there's not too much point in not having Ermine White (there were only 5 Ermine White TR8s, all PED cars) but missing a Topaz and Maple wedge (and possibly TaraGreen and a couple of others like Richelieu and Tumeric) hurts and I'd like to "collect" some photos of these colours so the collection is complete. Anyone here have a nice photo to share of colours I'm missing? My working collection lives here at the moment and there are more than one of some "challenging-to-photograph" colours:

Once I have the nearly "complete" collection, I'll make them available for Clay to post on his site, probably will put them on the TWOA website, and possible on the WWWedgesite as well so they'll be generally available to ANY wedgehead.

I learned something from this, there are a LOT of nice wedges out there and Vermilion is really MUCH more orange than I ever imagined

P.S. I used Piggott's book as a reference for what colours were available FWIW.

Yellow TCT is Tumeric Yellow, unfortunately it was half in grey primer when I got it. I will probably repaint it in that colour but that is waaaay down the road.

Different brands of digital cameras render colours differently, example Fuji cameras used to have a bluish tinge while Canon cameras were overstaturated. (Don't know if they still do but that was a few years ago when they were still an up and coming piece of technology.) It was especially noticeable when you compared side by side. I had pictures of my sister's wedding taken with my Olympus and niece's boyfriend's Canon and had to saturate the Olympus by 30% and desaturate the Canon's 30% to get them close to the same.

If red cars are photographed while on dead (dry) grass they look orange because of the reflected light off the ground. It doesn't affect any other colour (noticeably).

Oooh, may I use that photo? Actually, I've gotten permission and it's there in the gallery now. Starting to think about moving these to a permanent home. No Topaz wedges out there?

I DO realize that the colours won't be "correct" by any stretch of the imagination. Not only do different cameras and films render color differently, but so do our computer monitors and screens. Still, there's a few standard Dupont colour charts at the top and you at least get an idea of what the color looked like. It's something fun to do at shows, try and see if you can figure out the colour you're looking at!

Send me a private email and let me know if it's ok to use your photo in the collection? I'm also trying to get permission from everyone. There are a lot of professional photographers who seem to own wedges and are (rightfully) a bit possessive about their photos

I've been meaning to ask about color; after checking the plate and searching the forum threads, I see that my color is the mysterious JMA code, with trim code RHA. It looks like Pageant Blue to me!
