Trunks and Boots

Postby wedgewa » 10 Feb 2011 15:33

I replaced all the matting inside mine last year. Just like the original when I bought the car new, the top center of the vertical bulkhead mat has a flap cut to fit around an angled steel brace. And just like the original, it's now hanging upside down after a few months because it has no fastener. When the car was new, I just cut the original flap off. I didn't want to glue it up because the entire mat snaps in place without glue.
Before I perform surgery again, is there a better idea?

I still have the original mats and they look like new. The piece in question hangs like you say. That's part of the original look.

You can try to make it look like a Mercedes or you can try to make let it alone to let it look like a Triumph. Your choice.[:)]

How about a little Velcro. No brain surgery required.

Wisdom from the Netherlands:
"i just folded the little flap back/down behind the bulkhead liner."

Obviously a fellow member of the Secret Society of Bulkhead Liners.

Also classified under "why didn't I think of that - I've had 30 years"

Done.
