Time has finally come for the garage extension to start taking shape. It is going from this single small storage space where you could drive your car in, and not get out because the doors wont open wide
enough[:(!] Oh the joys of the great 'British Garage' [:)]



Progress has been very good and before I start this new thread were are already for the roof to go on[^]





It may not look to large at the moment but it is going to be big enough to house my 2 daily's and the TR7[;)]



What I have decided to do was to install a pit into the extension which I must say is a very handy accessory to have, unfortunately we came across this large unmovable obstacle



which I have been informed is NOT allowed to be removed or tampered with[V] I will be going back to plan A, Trolley jack and high axle stands[:(]
But not all was so disheartening because I was able to take my frustration on certain parts of the...Well lets say reconstruction[:D]



One can do wonders with the proverbial sledge hammer[^]
The construction continues [:)]

As long as the weather holds, at least we are having better weather conditions than I did with Vars reconstruction[:D]

Great work, but unless my eyes deceive me, it looks like you might be able to get the front 1/2 of a car into the new extension. Looks to be maybe 8 - 10 ft deep.

Am I missing something?

Yes you are quite right M in your dimension guess, it is certainly a lot smaller than my last garage(45ftx24ft) The finished product will be 24ftx17ft so will give me the space for 3 cars, the TR7 will be on dollies and swung around length ways which will give me the extra room one needs to pull their 7 to bits[;)]

Fair play to you Seven, you haven't wasted any time getting stuck into that garage build.

One of the most important additions is an internal excess, complete with fire door[:)]



However the demolition work doesn't end either, there's no greater joy than to make something bigger[:D]





This is where we are up to at present.[8D]



The size of the extension was some what restricted due to regulations, council by-laws and house positioning and turn around areas etc etc, so one has to make best of what one can do in this situation[:(][:(!][V][^][:)][:D][:D]

Speaking of the weather[:0] First time there has been a delay, its been wet and very windy here today[V] even the builders never showed up, guess they were blown back off shore[:(!]

Neighbors are to close for me. In the 30+ years I have owned homes the closest neighbor has been at least 100 feet away

I know how you feel, my first house was on 1/4 acre, second was 1 acre and the third 1 acre also, But you do get used to living very close to your neighbours, sometimes it can be very cozy[;)]
What really matters the most is your TR7[:D]

Actually I suggested something similar to "she who must be obeyed" once - and was severely rebuked...[V]. Ah well.

Heaven forbid the 'dining room', I'm not even allowed to go in there[:0] This room was the 6th bedroom, which I was going to use as a library (it would have been full of my car books anyway)so it didn't take much persuasion that we didn't need 6 bedrooms (or a library)....especially that there is only 3 of us living here[:D]
The deal was that I don't touch the dining room, conservatory or laundry and that the Mrs of the house can put her Spider in the garage at night, you can guess the rest[;)] Just how will I be able to fit her car and my bed in the garage at night is beyond me [:D]
