Was it effective in reducing noise in the cabin?

Oh, I guess I should have clarified...
So I didn't buy it.

The 8 had one of these, but it started to deteriorate, & I had to remove it.
My son immediately complained of tappet, & injector noise, so it must have been effective.
I can only assume he was right. I can’t hear any of it. One of the few advantages of getting old is that your car runs much more quietly, or at least seems to.

Hi John
We have these on both the 7 and V8 bonnets and I purchased them from the USA, sent the photos to PaulW,and told him the supplier and as you see in Stevie's photo it looks great. It does cut the noise downquite a bit as well.
I can't download photos on here otherwise I would have put mine on show as well [8D] divi that I am ha ha.
Cheers

That's something I'd have to hear for myself as I would think the louvres would let out any noise from under the bonnet. I'm guessing the noise I hear is mostly fan/timing chain noise. I can't say I hear any injector/valve train noise although my hearing is closer to Hasbeen's than his son's hearing I'm sure.[:p]

Hi Stevie and Moe
Phew, hope for my memory yet!!!
How well these would work with SU's on a V8 when clearance can be '
an issue'

Hi John I know the feeling of relief too when you find the memory still works ha ha.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![;)]
The liner should be okay with the twin SU's as I have a holley on my v8 with the pancake filter and it is okay, the liner is only about a 1/4" thick anyway.
The ebay seller is the chap we bought ours from and a very helpful bloke as well.
Cheers

Interesting that ebay buy it now price of US $74.00 is higher than the US $49.00 (no laurel leaf logo) or $59.00 with logo than the site I first linked to.
