Postal service from the UK for wheels

Is there a reputable company in the UK that could be used to pick up and ship items purchased on Ebay to the US? I have been wanting to purchase MGF wheels and all of the ones available are "pick up only". Any info would be greatly appreciated.
If this belongs in a different forum let me know.

If you need a base here in the UK I could help you. They can be delivered to me, or I could collect for you if they are not too far away. I am in Cambridgeshire and I do get out and about a fair bit. I do know to send anything to the States is very expensive though. I can get some freight costs for you on a set of MGF wheels to the States, I am guessing these will be just the rims? ie without tires.
I have sent stuff back to Louisville in the past.

Thanks Stevie. I checked out the site and they seem to be exactly what I'm looking for. I sent them an email for a quote.

Thanks for the offer Peter. I'll keep it in mind if this shipping company doesn't work out. I was initially looking for rims only but depending on the shipping cost it may make sense to get the tires too. The tires are used but seem to be pretty good and I can't imagine it would cost an extra $400 (cost of a cheap set of tires) to ship them with the rubber.

Because it fits! [:D] Correct bolt pattern and offset. And the main aftermarket wheel that fits here in the states, as I'm sure you know, is the Minilite (or the various knockoffs) and I want something different. And I'd rather not go the wheel adapter route.

It's about $600 for a set of minilites from Rota wheels, which I haven't totally ruled out. Then add another $400 for tires (cheap ones at that). Compare that to getting a set of 4 MGF wheels and tires for $200 to $300 then paying for shipping (quote in the works) and I think it will be a substantial savings for a wheel that no one else here has.

Actually what do you mean by "F" wheel. There are a bunch of different styles that come up as MGF wheels (when you search ebay UK). I haven't even decided which one I like best.
But again, the fact that they fit is the answer.

Craig, if you get those wheels, make sure you get the matching nuts also. They are quite different to any others available here in Oz.

Craig, the "F" just meant MGF. If you go mini light Clone ,I would consider the VTO Classic 8. And check out Khumo's for tires. about $120 a set less.

Oh yea, if you do buy MGF wheels and tires. Have them send you a pic of the date stamp on the tire.

Make sure you get the wheels of an MGF VVC model. The other ones have a smaller centre that hits the dust cap on the hubs of a TR7. You want VVC rims.

Any style of MGF wheel will fit the TR.

The VVC MGF was a higher performance model version and had 15" 5 spoke wheels, later models had 16" 6 spoke wheels.
I have the 8 spoke 15" on mine and they fit fine. I have tried four different styles of MGF wheels on my TR and they all fit fine, I just prefered the 8 spoke on mine.

Some of the mg wheels are very hard to get

I was just Lucky when I got mine I have never seen them for sale again

In saying that I have not been looking to hard

The V Spoke were the last wheel to be used at the last of the MGTF

and I think they look good and definitely look better on the car rather than off (personal choice)

Wow lots of great info from everyone! And all I did was ask about a shipping company. [:D]
Thanks for the heads up on all those points. I do like Stevie's V-spokes the best but haven't seen a whole set of them available. I'm leaning towards the 15" 5 spoke or the 15" square spoke. I do like the 16" 11 spoke design but don't want 16" wheels. There's no rush for this so I might take my time and see what else may come available.
1 other thing I need to keep in mind is that all of the sets that I have looked at with the tires mounted have 2 different size tires for the MGF. Smaller for the front. I don't think this would have too much effect on the car as long as the difference in appearance isn't obvious. I'm not too worried about the condition of the tires, I figure they would just be an intial set till the TR7 fund was replenished. Or it might just be easier to just get wheels only and fit my own tires.

Shipping company already wrote back. They do handle this type of thing. I just need to get them a weight and package size and I'm good to go. I'll figure it with tires and without. Anyone know what a 205/50/15 tire weighs? (I have the wheel weight from the link TRV8 posted) I'll post their quote when I get it, in case anyone is interested.

Nevermind on that tire weight. Got it from a Miata site. About 19 to 20 lbs

I kept all the tyres the same size 195's sorry do not know the weight

The [url="http://www.miata.net/faq/tire_weights.html"]miata site[/url] lists weights for 195/50/15 and 205/40/16. The values appear to be lbs.
