I searched and couldn't find this information anywhere, so I sent a note to KYB technical support to find out the dampening and rebound rate of their current TR7/8 shocks and struts. Sharing in case anyone else is interested.

The current shock specified for our cars are KG5550. The spec is 70 / 35 @ .3m/s

The strut cartridge is listed as 363015, with specs being 100 / 30

Jim TenCate has done some research and found some Monroe shocks that work well on the rears. I will try to find out which ones they were.

This is from a post of yours back on June 22nd:

<snip begin>

Jim TenCate says that there is a set of Monroe shocks that work very well back there. I will try to get the numbers for you.

Cheep, a little stiff, Monroe #

PART. . . ., MOUNTING. . . . .., LENGTHS. . .. ......, DUST. . .., PARTS
NO......., Upper Lower...., Comp. Ext. Trav. ...., SHIELD...., PACK
31125 . . . . , S4, S4 . . . . , 12.250 20.750 8.500...., Yes...., Two P1137 MONROE-MATIC PLUS
32286 . . . . , S4, S4 . . . . , 13.500 22.125 8.625...., Yes...., Two P1137 MONROE-MATIC PLUS

Phil got the 31125s... the other part number will also fit...

<end snip>

I've sent an email to technical support at Gabriel to try to get them to provide the same dampening and rebound rates for the shocks that Jim found.
