Was it a V8 or was it this one?

If it is, someone has just made a healthy profit.

The guy I sold this one to has it still on ebay and has reduced the buy it now price to £2000. If he sells it at this price he will still make a healthy profit over what I sold it to him for, but it needed shedloads of welding, to do that properly I had a quote from TRenterprises for £3000(just the welding). I know they charge top dollar. Someone suggested, no doubt unintentionally, that I may still have been selling it on another part of this forum, feel I should tell people I am no longer involved with this vehicle.

Hi I emailed the chap selling the car and asked "Was there any rust underneath or water leaks in the cockpit and he replied that as far as he knew there was no rust underneath only surface rust on the suspension arms and no water leaks inside the car."
So somebody is going to get a very expensive repair bill if they don't check the car out carefully.
Cheers
Moe

Hi Nervous the car you are asking about belonged to Rob Welch and it was featured in I think either Practical Classics or Classics Monthly
I have the magazine here somewhere, he did indeed put Montego bumpers on it and it looked and sounded very good,he also had a Porsche 944 with a Rover V8 that he installed,I think that upset the purists ha ha, and he is also a nice bloke to speak to
Cheers
Moe

Hi Moe, to do the job properly, it needed new sills inner and outer, it also needed the rear passenger radius arm rebuilding as it was moving quite alarmingly. And the wings behind the front wheels was very holey behind the spring. The car hadn't run for 6 years when I purchased it.
It is stil a lovely looking car and despite not driving it, I actually miss it taking up space on my front lawn, mainly because it stopped the local cats defecating on my grass!!![:D]
It was an expensive lesson for me.
