Coolant light

Postby pupinabox » 25 Sep 2010 16:49

Just drained and refilled my coolant. The dreaded coolant light will not go off. I know the system is moving about, the top hose gets hot, the fan kicks in, and the temp gauge goes up to just over half.

My understanding is that the coolant light sensor works off the header tank. If there is enough fluid in the tank, it makes a connection and the light goes off.

The header tank is almost full, sooooo....is there a way to test the wire to make sure all is well with it like grounding it to the body or something?

The coolant light is controlled by a printed circuit board hidden in a cylinder up under the front edge of the dash under the speedo.

The WedgeLab has a write-up on the board. Coolant Sensor
