Has anyone any idea how to check the level sensor out, my light comes on for a few seconds when I turn the ignition on but I noticed the other day it doesn't come on when there is no coolsnt in the system.

I think the sensor grounds through the coolant & as long as the ground is there the light stays off. If the sensor looses the ground because of loss of coolant then the light comes on.

If you have no coolant in your system is the sensor making a ground through touching the metal inside the tank?
