possible LED Door Light

Postby Marsu » 02 Sep 2010 17:41

Was browsing an online catalog and came across these LED fittings that look like they may be suitable for replacement of the orig door light, but haven't measured the door skin aperature yet.

They are distributed here by Gineico Marine, but no prices listed.

Jog my memory, but the door light is just a festoon bulb, right? If so, there are plenty of drop-in LED replacements that'll work fine. No need to replace the whole housing.

The switch pivot hinge mechanism has broken on nearly all of the lights I have, hence, I'm looking to replace them and fit a switch on the console.

Can someone explain to me exactly how the door lights are supposed to work.........?? The lights seem to have 3 positions - tilted up, level, tilted down. What's supposed to happen in each position please?

I have actually replaced my bulbs with LED strips that have 3 lights in them, red to match the red check. They are much brighter than the original lights and look neat also. Took about 6 minutes to do.
