NEW SILLS

Well, here goes . I have purchased a TR7/8 which is well sorted running gear wise. The body isn't too bad but I am needing to fit new outer sills and wings. Just what am I letting myself in for?
Does anyone have any advice?? Should i fit the sill or the wing first?
Any advice, and particularly pics of a sill being replaced would be great. Thanks.

The orig sill runs under the front wing.

To do a "proper job" requires the front wings off to allow outer sill replacement.

This sometimes reveals a horror story.

Sorry I don't have pics, but others do that you can find through google.

You also need to open the rear panels, as cill goes under there too.
My web shows some of what you may find too. Have a look here, if a drophead there is also the cill strengthener plate to worry about.

Also runs under and behind door A post/hinge post, quite a complex job to get fitted as per factory.

I have some pics somewhere, I'll dig them out.

Cheers, Paul
